Streisand Effect
When attempts to hide or suppress information backfire by drawing more attention to it.
A social phenomenon where efforts to censor, hide, or suppress information inadvertently increase public awareness of that information. Named after Barbra Streisand's 2003 attempt to suppress photos of her Malibu residence, which resulted in far more people viewing the images than would have otherwise.
