Open-Weight Model
An AI model whose trained parameters are publicly released, allowing anyone to download, run, and modify the model without API access restrictions.
Open-weight models make their neural network weights freely available for download, enabling local deployment and modification. Unlike fully open-source models, open-weight releases may still restrict commercial use or withhold training code and data. Major examples include Meta's Llama and Mistral's model families.
