Model Context Protocol

An open standard developed by Anthropic for connecting AI models to external tools, data sources, and application contexts. MCP enables agents to interact with IDEs, databases, documentation systems, and other software through a unified interface rather than requiring custom integrations for each tool. It allows capabilities like Xcode preview access to work whether developers use the IDE or command-line tools.
