Cerebras Systems
An AI chip company that builds wafer-scale processors, using nearly entire silicon wafers to create single massive chips designed to accelerate AI training and inference.
Cerebras Systems is an AI hardware company founded in 2016 that takes a radically different approach to chip design. Rather than cutting small chips from silicon wafers, Cerebras uses nearly the entire 300mm wafer to build a single processor called the Wafer Scale Engine. This architecture eliminates the data-shuffling bottleneck between separate chips in GPU clusters, enabling significantly faster AI workloads. The company raised $1 billion at a $23 billion valuation in early 2026 and counts OpenAI among its customers.
